The Sta-Kold Corporation was founded after a meeting with a family friend that was involved in the pharmaceutical packaging business.  During the meeting, was an introduction to a new and highly innovative cold chain technology, one that provides temperature stability/control for up to as much as 96 hours, all without ice or dry ice, using just freezer gel-packs. 

The company behind the design is know for their innovative research of high performance, environmentally safe insulation used in both commercial and industrial packaging.  This company received numerous grants for research and development to improve global vaccine transportation devices.  Currently, vaccine transport devices lack functionable stability at desired temperatures. This lack of stability resulted in high losses of vaccines during transport. 

The new patent pending technology was designed to increase the life of the vaccine transports from the current 12 – 18 hours.  The increase in cold temperature stability also results in no freezing of the vaccines and no increase above the threshold temperature. Liquid Matrix (LM21) has been tested by a highly rated, independently testing lab for verification and passed all examination requirements. The success of the product resulted in attention on a global scale.  Given the success of the application within the pharmaceutical space, it became obvious that there was an opportunity to apply the same technology to the consumer space.  Why not use this technology to develop an ice-free cooler that works?  Ice-free means no mess, no soggy contents, no chance of leakage and all while providing longer hours of performance.  It is our opinion that the consumer market is filled with cooler products that over promise and under-deliver.  The coolers that do perform at higher levels are in many cases, very expensive and require lots of ice, thereby making them heavy, cumbersome, and messy.  Our Sta-Kold coolers are designed to provide unsurpassed performance in a personal size cooler without all of the hassles.  Our coolers use the technology called Liquid Matrix (LM21), which helps form a barrier that blocks cold from leaving the cargo area and bocks heat from entering.  The result… our coolers have shown to maintain temperatures as low as 2c for up to 60 hours using two freezer gel packs. In addition to providing superior performance, our coolers can be carried onto commercial aircraft, as long as the freezer packs are frozen.  This is perfect for new mothers that need to travel with breastmilk and/or ready made formula AND for anyone that needs to travel with anything that requires refrigeration.   

In early 2021, Sta-Kold started the official collaboration between the two companies.  The result
